CHRYSOSTOMOS PAPADOPOULOS

Opinions

I remember Mr. Papadopoulos when my parents and I visited Warsaw and he was our tour guide in the city and the Royal Castle. Very soon we realized that he loves what he does and that guiding for it is more like a job than a profession. He left us with unforgettable memories of the wonderful Warsaw!!!!!!

Giorgos P.

I fondly remember Chrysis when a year ago, with the whole family, he took us on a tour of Warsaw, generously sharing with us his rich and valuable knowledge about the history of Poland. I recommend him to all my compatriots who ask enough of a tour guide, I am sure they will not be disappointed. We were more impressed by his multiple knowledge of Nazism, of which Poland was its biggest victim.

We were in Poland last Christmas with an organized excursion and Mr. Chrysis was our tour guide, Warsaw and Krakow. The whole team was delighted with his services, his vast historical knowledge related to these cities and also his determination to show us as much as possible, even constantly going beyond the time limits. I forgot to write that he also went with us to Auszwitz and Wieliczka as a translator. Finally, he gave us the guided tours there too to an excellent degree accompanied by a local guide

Discover with me the secrets of the three most important cities in Poland, Warsaw (today's capital) and Krakow (former capital) and multicultural Wrocław
  • Beautiful and historic Krakow, which has retained its medieval character, as most of the buildings have since been built and are preserved in excellent condition to this day.
  • A picturesque martyr Warsaw, a modern city that was the biggest victim of Nazism in the last world war, as it was 85% destroyed and rebuilt within a few years.
  • Fascinating Wrocław where you can find traces of many ethnic cultures that have left their traces on the city's over 10-century history
Before getting acquainted with the prices and contacting me, I encourage you to read the Blog tab, where you will find short histories of the places I give tours and, in the tabs regarding individual cities, you will find descriptions of the trips. This will help you choose what you are most interested in and it will be easier for us to plan the trip route together. All tours are conducted by me and you can contact me directly.

GOLDEN TIPS FOR PREPARATION FOR A TRAVEL TO POLAND:

A).First of all, beware of those who offer you any tourist services whose main goal is to mislead you and offer specific services with the information that there is no other way.
Another very basic thing is the so-called guides. In Poland and generally throughout Europe, to become a professional tour guide you must complete specific training for each city, which includes a thorough history of the city and its attractions, as well as knowledge of the fine arts associated with each monument (some museums also have separate training) and always ends with final exams. Each tourist guide receives his own license and ID card, which always has an expiration date. In Poland, the profession of a city guide was liberalized a few years ago, so anyone who does not have the knowledge can mislead you and prevent you from receiving the appropriate information. Official travel agencies that want to work with trained and professional guides always ask for his diploma. In turn, I present to you all my diplomas that I mentioned in my short CV.

B).WIELICZKA SALT MINE TOUR FROM KRAKOW: Unfortunately there is no Greek-speaking guide, you will need to organize a Polish tour and find a translator, or an English-language tour, which can be done directly if you know English. And remember that you can handle this yourself. (The distance between Krakow and Wieliczka is 10-12 km.)

You can go there as follows.

  • City bus 304 departs from Krakow (every 10-15 minutes from morning to late night), which leaves near the central railway station right in front of the main entrance to GALERIA KRAKOWSKA at Pawia Street and goes to the salt mine in 40-45 minutes for only one and a half euros. .
  • Application of the international company Uber Taxi, the price will depend on the distance or demand and on the time and day.

C) TRIP TO THE NAZI AUSCHWITZ CAMP FROM KRAKOW:
The distance between Krakow and Auschwitz is 70 km. There is a Greek-speaking guide in Oświęcim who works on weekdays, and if requested in advance, he can also come on Saturday. When purchasing tickets, it is best to contact directly:
Ania GLOWNIA, e-mail: a.m.glownia@gmail.com.
She will help you buy tickets at the lowest price, without price premiums from other places of purchase. Remember that a ticket to Auschwitz with a guide costs less than 10 euros and the tour lasts about three and a half hours.
You can also find Ania on the "Travel and Destinations" fb page.

  • When it comes to your journey from Krakow to Oświęcim, you should be aware that there are several ways to do it on your own:
    1. The Lajkonik bus, which will take you to Oświęcim and get you exactly where you want, and from there back to Krakow at a specific time and place. (The journey there takes an hour and a half, which means that the bus must leave Krakow at least 2-2.5 hours before the start of the tour in order to go through individual security, just like when traveling by plane). You can find the timetable for this bus in the search engine by entering the phrase "lajkonik bus". (It is considered the most convenient and cheapest way). The negative about this connection is that the first bus leaves around 7:30 a.m., which means the tour should depart around 9:30 a.m.
    2. If the tour starts in the morning, i.e. until 09.30, you can go to Oświęcim by train, it does not take long, you can take a taxi to the museum. Trains leave from 5am and the journey takes between one hour and one and a half hours, depending on the train, and can be refunded in the same way if necessary.
    3. You can also rent your own mini bus if your finances allow, it costs around 130-150 euros for the 6 hours that will be rented.
Bus and train stations in Krakow are located close to each other.

Groups in museums in Poland are up to 30 people
